Moen 3931 Chrome Diverter Spouts Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this tub spout as a last ditch effort before calling a plumber to repair a pipe since the previous tub spout(s) had a screw to secure the spout to the pipe which had created a groove in the pipe. This groove caused water to spray out of the back of another new tub spout when you pulled up the diverter rod to use the shower (the replacement tub spout used same screw setup).
I found some post on the Internet that praised this particular model so I gave it a try. The main points that made me purchase this item was that it had a "yoke" that clamps around the pipe instead of the screw going into the pipe to hold it in place. It also had a cup washer/cup seal in the diverter that prevents water from leaking out of the diverter when the shower is in use. This washer is replaceable.
This tub spout worked for me. No leaking problems. The tub spout is plastic with a chrome finish. I would rather have metal, but since it saved me
from calling a plumber to fix a job that should have been easy, I will not dock it a star.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this primarily to replace the handle on my Delta shower, not the entire trim. I had the crystal-style one and wanted to change it to a handle-style. This seemed like a simple option. Installation was easy. Pop the cap, unscrew existing screw, screw in the new adapter, and screw on the handle. However, it did not fit correctly at all. The handle worked fine, but it was noticeably loose and "jiggly". Basically, the adapter and the handle were not designed to fit together to millimeter precision. By contrast, I returned this and purchased an official Delta handle kit and it fit perfectly and was solid.
I also have another shower in my house that has a Moen faucet. I tried replacing that with the Danco handle and had exactly the same problem. Again, I ordered the Moen handle and it fit nice and snug.
In both cases, the handle kit was half of what this trim kit cost. So, I spent half the money and got a *much* better product.
I would stay away from the Danco handle kits. And, honestly, based on this experience, I personally will probably stay away from all Danco products.

(More customer reviews)This is an extremely long 8" tub spout designed to be mounted perpendicular to a vertical wall surface. This design is for tub only unless your shower fixture includes a diverter.
I was asked to solve a problem in a rental unit where someone had boxed in a tub and had not thought to use a deck mount, tub fixture. The deck is the horizontal surface that surrounds "boxed in"tubs. The following link shows how the issue should have been solved. American Standard ONE Deck-Mount Tub Filler with Personal Shower and with EverClean - 2064,901 There are dozens of styles of deck mount tub fixtures - I chose that one because the picture illustrates the issue.
A standard tub spout had been installed and the net result was that some of the water from the spout hit the rim of the the tub, and flowed back to the deck.
There are several manufacturer's that make extra long tub spouts but this is the least expensive of the group.
None of these long tub spouts are instock item at your local hardware or big box store.
There are two options for mounting - 1/2" thread or compression to 1/2" rigid copper tubing. The compression option will be much easier for a "do it yoursellf-er."
This long, tub spout is not particularly pleasing to my eye but solves the problem inexpensively.
An associated issue is that a wall mounted shower head also throws water onto the horizontal surface of the deck. To solve that problem i will try to adapt one of the these: Shower Enclosure for Clawfoot Tub, Oval Curtain Ring, Bath Ring, Clawfoot Tub Rod - Chrome

(More customer reviews)I purchased this trim kit to replace an original Gerber kit because that is what the kit was supposed to do. As it turns out, after paying a plumber to replace it, one of the stem valves was defective, and further, one of the seats was already cracked upon opening the package. There were also brass metal shavings in the package and on the parts enforcing the poor quality craftsmanship that apparently when into the production of these parts. Also, because the package came in sealed plastic, once I opened it, the packaging was destroyed and wasn't in any condition to return it in. So as a result, I had to purchase a new kit (from another manufacturer) to complete the job! So between the cost of the kit and shipping, $50 went down the drain (no pun intended), not to mention the labor cost for my plumber. Never again. Do not buy this product!

I have hung my heavy terry cloth robe, jeans with full pockets with no problems. When was the last time you got a comment on a hook. I did. My two hooks were noticed immediately by my sister. She immediately ordered two for herself. These hooks are so beautiful it is ashamed that they have to go behind a door. Installation took less than 10 min. The hooks arrived in flawless condition and very quick. Highly reccommend.

But, if you need a replacement this will work fine (if you can find the right part #) If you don't know what Moen part # you need call them, they are very helpful. It was the only way I could determine that this was the right part by reading them a code from the old part.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this one in from Amazon after not having too much luck with Hair Stopper - Drain Protector by Evriholder Products.
Basically what I've discovered is the holes in the rubber ones are either too few to let enough water down the drain (once they catch the least bit of hair) ... or too many and too large and let the hair down the drain.
The stainless mesh ones fill the bill. Plenty of open space for the water to get through. Yet the mesh is fine enough to stop just about anything. Mine even catches any soap residue that isn't fully dissolved.
I was concerned that, without a seal, some hair would slip under the outer rim and directly into the drain. I can't tell for sure, but that doesn't seem to be happening.
Plus it's a much easier clean-up compared to the Evriholder mentioned above.
I've also got the larger version in the kitchen sink now and it's doing it's job there as well.
It's a wonder these things don't come standard issue, as they do a much better job that the usual old-school devices that come in sinks and tubs.
Anyway, try this one first. After trying several of the rubber ones, I found stainless steel mesh is really the way to go.
UPDATE [February, 2011]: Ok, a year and a half in, and I STILL say this one's a winner. It still performs just as I first described. Plus I discovered it is durn easy to clean when it starts getting soap build-up ... I just toss it into the washer with a load of towels and it comes out spit-shine clean. Look no further.

Sure enough, the toilet tank lever was made of plastic and lasted only a couple of months. Found the Danco unit on-line, made of chrome and brass, and figured it would make it another 41 years. Good-bye plastic, hello chrome and brass. I am a 78 year old woman and was able to install it myself. I am really happy with the unit.
