(More customer reviews)I purchased this Kohler valve body to go with a 3 handle set for the bath/shower in my home. I like the quality of this product; I had looked at several other 3 valve units at my local stores and found tapped threads with large metal shavings still attached, etc. The Kohler part was machined better with more attention to detail - no burrs, etc on the unit. That says a lot.
The ceramic washer system is wonderful, as is the 1/4 turn feature for full off to on. I had the old gerber style system with rubber washers. I had to replace those every few months to a year and I was still getting drips. Plus, when you turned them, you didn't get a smooth change in flow rate. The Kohler unit is flawless - no drips, and it smoothly changes the flow from off to on through the 90 degrees.
The holes through the wall needed to be enlarged for the valve body - the old gerber valve body was considerably smaller.
That said, the only disappointment is that the valve bodies must not be quite the same between manufacturers for easy replacement. The 8" width is right, but the vertical distance from the valve body centerline to where each of the 4 connections is made isn't the same as the previous model. I had to alter the plumbing length for all 4 connections, which turned this job into something considerable longer. This is something these manufacturers should have standardized a long time ago.
UPDATE: After one week of use, the hot water valve cartridge failed (water flow would not shut off). Later found out a small screw was in the valve and caused it to fail. I can't figure out how a screw ended up there, and cannot tell if it came from the factory or it was me. Lesson - check the valve body for foreign materials just in case.

Moen 87540 One-Handle Kitchen Faucet Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this faucet early this year. It hung around, waiting to be installed, for months. Finally, the old one became unusable. My husband wanted nothing to do with installation and was happy to hire a plumber. Well....I wasn't. So, I embarked on my first "plumbing" job. My first (and only) problem was getting the old one out. I called customer service at Moen and a highly qualified gentleman advised me how to uninstall the old faucet. He was competent, articulate, and, best of all, was not the least bit condescending: he gave me the confidence and information I needed to complete the job. With the old faucet out, in went the new, with great ease. I needed a connection part and was able to find it easily at the hardware store, thanks to my friend at Moen.
The only reason I gave this only 4 stars is because of the decreased water pressure. That, of course, is a result of the water saving feature but I find it just a little too decreased. If I use the spray feature, however, the pressure seems to be normal. The faucet is very easy to use and very attractive.

Without it, we were unsuccessful at pulling the cartridge after 20 minutes. With it, the cartridge popped out nearly instantly. Huge difference!

Danco 10003 Universal Trim Kit for Delta, Chrome Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this primarily to replace the handle on my Delta shower, not the entire trim. I had the crystal-style one and wanted to change it to a handle-style. This seemed like a simple option. Installation was easy. Pop the cap, unscrew existing screw, screw in the new adapter, and screw on the handle. However, it did not fit correctly at all. The handle worked fine, but it was noticeably loose and "jiggly". Basically, the adapter and the handle were not designed to fit together to millimeter precision. By contrast, I returned this and purchased an official Delta handle kit and it fit perfectly and was solid.
I also have another shower in my house that has a Moen faucet. I tried replacing that with the Danco handle and had exactly the same problem. Again, I ordered the Moen handle and it fit nice and snug.
In both cases, the handle kit was half of what this trim kit cost. So, I spent half the money and got a *much* better product.
I would stay away from the Danco handle kits. And, honestly, based on this experience, I personally will probably stay away from all Danco products.

(More customer reviews)This is an extremely long 8" tub spout designed to be mounted perpendicular to a vertical wall surface. This design is for tub only unless your shower fixture includes a diverter.
I was asked to solve a problem in a rental unit where someone had boxed in a tub and had not thought to use a deck mount, tub fixture. The deck is the horizontal surface that surrounds "boxed in"tubs. The following link shows how the issue should have been solved. American Standard ONE Deck-Mount Tub Filler with Personal Shower and with EverClean - 2064,901 There are dozens of styles of deck mount tub fixtures - I chose that one because the picture illustrates the issue.
A standard tub spout had been installed and the net result was that some of the water from the spout hit the rim of the the tub, and flowed back to the deck.
There are several manufacturer's that make extra long tub spouts but this is the least expensive of the group.
None of these long tub spouts are instock item at your local hardware or big box store.
There are two options for mounting - 1/2" thread or compression to 1/2" rigid copper tubing. The compression option will be much easier for a "do it yoursellf-er."
This long, tub spout is not particularly pleasing to my eye but solves the problem inexpensively.
An associated issue is that a wall mounted shower head also throws water onto the horizontal surface of the deck. To solve that problem i will try to adapt one of the these: Shower Enclosure for Clawfoot Tub, Oval Curtain Ring, Bath Ring, Clawfoot Tub Rod - Chrome

(More customer reviews)I purchased this trim kit to replace an original Gerber kit because that is what the kit was supposed to do. As it turns out, after paying a plumber to replace it, one of the stem valves was defective, and further, one of the seats was already cracked upon opening the package. There were also brass metal shavings in the package and on the parts enforcing the poor quality craftsmanship that apparently when into the production of these parts. Also, because the package came in sealed plastic, once I opened it, the packaging was destroyed and wasn't in any condition to return it in. So as a result, I had to purchase a new kit (from another manufacturer) to complete the job! So between the cost of the kit and shipping, $50 went down the drain (no pun intended), not to mention the labor cost for my plumber. Never again. Do not buy this product!

Seems to work just fine, but for some reason, the handle breaks every 6-8 months (the inner plastic ring cracks and it can no longer grip the metal stem). The Posi-Temp handle does not seem to work with generic tub faucet knobs, and I cannot always find this in stores. So I now keep a spare in my house at all times. I guess I should just replace the faucet, but a new knob every 8 months is less than a plumber will charger to put in a new one, so I'm relatively happy.

These handles and shower/bath spouts are great looking and are better quality than what I saw from American Standard or Moen when I went shopping. The look is great for our bathroom and my wife is happy.
One point however - the picture shows a square knob for the shower diverter valve. It's not - it is round, and fairly small, around 1.5" in diameter.
