TOO MUCH OF IT WAS PLASTIC. SPECIFICALLY THE SLIDE BAR WAS PLASTIC & IT WAS A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.
FOR THE PRICE I WAS EXPECTING A METAL SLIDE BAR ASSEMBLY THAT WOULD BE STRONG & SAFE FOR THE APPLICATION. THE HAND HELD SHOWER HEAD IS PLASTIC TOO, BUT THAT IS TO BE EXPECTED. THE ENTIRE SYSTEM IS PRETTY & LOOKS GREAT IN MY NEW TILED SHOWER. I JUST WISHED THEY HAD NOT BEEN SO CHEAP & SUPPLIED A METAL SLIDE BAR.

(More customer reviews)I was horrified when our contractor installed this (and the tub spout) and I realized the top and bottom pieces of the slide bar, and the slider, and the entire tub spout were PLASTIC (in the oil-rubbed bronze finish - I don't know if the same is true of the other finishes). Not only that, but a single screw mounts each end of the bar and ours was very wobbly. I couldn't live with it and we've replaced it with Moen (all metal).

Great instructions.)
Well..., I've finally installed this set and I have to say that I am not as happy with it as I was when I bought it. After actually going through the installation, I found that the instructions are lacking in detail and clarity. I suppose a real plumber would not have any trouble.
The finish and appearance are still great, but there are a couple of things I don't like at all. When using the shower, the spout does not close off the water very well, so a significant amount goes down the drain, instead of to the showerhead (the troubleshooting guide says it needs to be replaced and I have not contacted the manufacturer yet). When using the tub, the water coming out of the spout actually curls around the outer lip and sprays a mist that goes outside the tub. The water flow out of the spout is the most inelegant looking I've ever seen (I know, it's picky, but it bugs me).
The minor, issues are: That the trim piece for the spout does not provide for any way to seal it to the wall, to prevent water intrusion when using the shower or when cleaning, and, the valve lever is not perfectly vertical (there is no way to adjust it either).

(More customer reviews)I have had my Danze Sonora bathroom faucets and accessories for a couple of years now after a full bathroom remodel. In general the products are very attractive with a quality feel, fit and finish. I cannot directly address installation since my contractor performed it, but I didn't hear any complaints or issues from him. My only issue involves the tub/shower diverter valve design and durability.
Approximately two weeks after initial installation (and with minimal use) the diverter valve began to allow water to come out the tub spout when in shower mode. This progressed until the shower became a trickle. I called Danze customer service and was told that the replacement valve assembly was back-ordered but would be shipped as soon as it was restocked (all no-charge). I was originally told it would take 4-6 weeks... I waited 8 before calling and e-mailing to get a status. Good news: the part was now in stock... bad news: my order was lost. I few days later I received a replacement valve, but it was the wrong one. I again contacted Danze and a few days later received the correct valve, followed shortly thereafter by ANOTHER of the wrong part (same part # as previously recv'd which was not even for my faucet - ie. it was not just a mix up between the water valve and the diverter valve, nor was it for my Sonora lav faucet).
After another contact with Danze expressing my irritation with both their product design and my experience, I received another shipment of the correct diverter valve. This turned out to be fortunate as I now had a good spare. We managed to make the first replacement last for about a year simply by leaving it in shower mode until recently when we started using the tub more and the diverter valve again failed. The spare the I had stashed away lasted about a week after installation... now I need yet another.
Now I'm not a mechanical engineer, but the issue and correction is obvious to me. The valve seat consists of a soft rubber, spring loaded cap that has a flat face. Since the diversion involves this cap SLIDING between thr two outlets in the vaalve body it simply sticks to the surfaces and gets ripped apart. If the rubber seat cap were changed to a nylon material with a slightly rounded face it would likely slide easier and last longer. Do they have any engineers at Danze?

The valve and tub fill have good water pressure, but I think the shower head limits the flow to what was really a low flow rate. We combined this with a danze handheld showerhead (which has great pressure) and have left the other showerhead as the main one, so we don't use this as our showerhead anymore. For the price, you can't beat it, although you should seriously consider switching out the showerhead.

For a total bathroom remodeling project, I used the following Danze Sirius brushed nickel components: D464602BN Multi-Function Personal Shower, D461160BN 6" Sunflower Showerhead, D481144BN 15-Inch Shower Arm, D113000BT Single Control Pressure Balance Mixing Valve with diverter, D500444BNT Trim Kit For Valve, D446136BN Paper Holder, D446133BN 24-Inch Double Towel Bar,D446131BN, 18-Inch Towel Bar, D497440BN Side Mount Tank Lever, and D221544BN Single Handle Lavatory faucet. All of these products were promptly shipped by Amazon.
The Danze web site gave a lot of useful pre-purchase information (e.g., PDFs of installation instructions and product specifications). It also showed a range of plumbing schemes for shower installations ---- since I was planning to have just a Personal Shower plus a single overhead shower head, the Danze site indicated that these two components could be controlled via a simple control mixing valve that included a diverter (i.e., a control valve that would normally be used for a bathtub/shower combination). This certainly simplified the plumbing!
The D221544BN Single Handle Lavatory faucet uses a single lever handle to control the water flow and temperature. In place of a control rod for the hand basin stopper, the Danze stopper is spring-loaded and seals via a simple push down ---- a second push then releases the stopper.

(More customer reviews)I am going to make this simple, for those of you who would love to have a custom shower with all the bells and whistles, without spending the HGTV price of $10,000 for the shower, than this is what your looking for. Delta filled a large gap with this little device. A six function valve with any combination desired to get wet. The stand up shower set is even better. I have both this set and the stand up shower set, I couldn't help myself, they are great. If you go to the Home Depot Expo Center, similar "shower spas" are over $1800 and they look like big shower slot machines. These sets are so versitile, sleak and custom how can you go wrong. I have a rain shower, body jets and shower head in the master, and the standard shower, tub spout and body jets in the guest bath. I hope I'll be able to get the guests to leave. If your looking for a regular shower valve or looking to gut and redo your shower, don't be foolish, BUY THIS NOW... seriously, you will never look back and say "this was a dumb purchase". It may cost a little more than a regular shower valve, $600 rather than $200, but the cost is worth the finish product. Enjoy your showers EVERY DAY.

(More customer reviews)After much contemplation I finally bought this and the companion 1724-74 to install in my shower at home. I did the work myself which took a little longer than I expected and had a few more trips to the hardware store, but I am quite satisfied with the accomplishment.
This installed very easily. I would encourage you to read the installation manual, if you are doing this, rather than just assuming you know how to install a faucet.
You have the ability to configure it for hot/cold on coming ni either side which was a nice feature.
It was very easy to get the scald guard adjusted right for me, contrary to a previous review. It is certainly more complicated than a faucet that just has individual on/off valves for the hot and cold line. But you can adjust the stop for the scald guard with a screwdriver and repositioning it in about 2 minutes.
The fact that it adjusts to manage the temperature makes for the fastest shower-up-to-temp time I have experienced. In the mornings, I just turn it on, wait and the shower is up to temp much faster than I am used to. I think the reason is that the faucet automatically goes full-hot until it starts getting hot water and then manages the hot/cold flow to keep the temperature stable. My previous shower faucet required continuous adjustement for the first several minutes of a shower.
The only down side is that I put two of these in the same shower, so the water comes at you from both sides (with indivudal temp control). Now I find we stay in the shower too long. But I don't think I can blame that on the faucet. :-)

(More customer reviews)This was a replacement for a builder-installed Delta faucet that used the single ball valve. The set looks nice, but I should have realized that the price was too good to offer more than basic water control. Unlike the ball valve it replaced, there is no independent control for pressure, so you set the valve for the right temperature and you get the pressure you get. Also, I'm disappointed with the flow pattern of the tub spigot. That could be an installation issue (I was less than impressed by other aspects of the hired installers work, so it may not be a fair reflection of the product). I have not yet used the show head, as we decided to continue using the one we already had and were happy with, so my comments pertain only to the water control valve and spigot.
I am happy with the finish and appearance of the set. It has an upgraded look to it compared to the original Delta set I had.
