Had my plumber install this ($80 for labor). It has a jungle of long hoses, one from water supply to faucet, one from faucet to filter, one from filter back up to faucet. You aren't supposed to adjust the hose length, the fittings aren't made to be removable and replaceable. That's okay, I guess, seems like a lot of potential for leakage and wierd pressure gradients, but, whatever. Delta should know.
The faucet drips every 25 seconds (yes, I timed it). I read the trouble-shooting guide, burped the system 3 x as they suggested - didn't help. Then I took apart the faucet mechanism. It was a real pain to get it back together - there's a loose spring and a loose "seat" (like a fancy washer) that you have to stuff into the faucet body, and then leave in there while you put in the stem. The spring and seat fall out as soon as you remove your finger or pencil or whatever you used to poke them in there, which you have to remove to get the stem in. Well, I managed to get it back together using a pen to stick in the spring and "seat", and very delicately removing the pen and getting the stem perfectly aligned, carefully inserting it in there and praying the spring and seat haven't fallen out. I can get it about 1 time out of three. (Yes, I have taken this apart many times by now.)
Reassembled: drip...drip...drip
I called Delta customer support twice, they offered two different suggestions: the first was pull on the compression spring to lengthen it a little, so it pushes harder on the seat. I thought you weren't supposed to do that with springs, but, okay, I tried it.
Drip...drip...drip...
The second Delta person said it was all my plumber's fault for not flushing the system, which takes two people to do properly. So, a single plumber can't install this thing? I need two plumbers at once? I only called one because I didn't want to futz with it and risk having problems with it. (ha ha)
Anyway, she said: now I have gunk in the mechanism and I have to turn off the water, take off the handle, take out the stem and my (hard-won) spring and seat assembly, get a helper to hold a bucket and a bunch of towels and catch the water and bounce it back into the sink when it comes gushing out the side (not the spout, the side!) of the faucet "like a firehose", in her words, and thus flush out any junk that got in there.
I hung up and gave this some thought. Good thing she used the word "hose": instead of the bucket and towels, I rigged up a hose to the 1" opening on the side of the faucet (the rigging involved a sacrificed rubber glove, among other items, and I let it rip: flushed the thing out vigorously, put it all back together.
drip...drip...drip
Took out and reinstalled filter, reflushed and re-burped.
drip...drip...drip
On second thought, I should have given this a one-star. It just shouldn't be this hard.
