It was not on the shelf at either of the two major home improvement stores in my area (one listed it online but at a much higher price). I tried to replace the washers on the original part, but it was a pain...and didn't stop the drips. I just wish I had seen this replacement part before I got started with the repair. It's worth paying the extra for this replacement part.

We remodeled our bathrooms two years ago and opted for two of the Grohe Allure faucets. We were happy with our Grohe kitchen faucet and decided that having a quality faucet in the bathroom would be a nice indulgence. These faucets have dripped ever since day one. Not just a little drip. Chinese water torture style dripping. Two to five minutes worth of dripping. So much dripping that the few minerals in our water build up around the lip despite repeated cleaning.
Now I don't know about you, but when I spend this kind of money on a faucet I expect it to perform better than a $30 home depot model. They don't - they're worse. And yes, we have had Grohe send us replacement cartridges which we then paid the plumber to come back out and install on our dime. The last communication from Grohe was that all this dripping is normal given the shape of the faucet. Wow - if that's the case why not tell customers up front? For the record we don't have an abnormally high PSI, and all of our other faucets work just find. Do not buy the Grohe Allure, and given their lack of help on this hideous faucet, I'd say don't buy Grohe *anything.*

(More customer reviews)BEFORE you buy this part, know that Delta has a lifetime warranty with most of their products and you could visit their website and request the replacement part for your Delta Faucet (I recommend having the purchase info, date and part number included) at no charge.
This little part seems to be a common failure at my home. I don't know if there is something in the water supply or just bad design, but after two to three years, all of my bathroom faucets (Delta Victorian) are starting to drip. The tub is now dripping (a slow trickle) and I never use the tub (or if so, once a year). But replacing the spring/rubber washer, stopped the drip.
I'm not a plumber but mechanically inclined. Replacing the part only requires shutting off the water supply, removing the valve assembly(s) and replacing the seal/spring. And make sure to block the drain as the this part could pop out and guess where it will want to go!
But $4 isn't much compared to a plumber's rate if this is going to be a problem every 2-3 years, I suggest getting some spares...

Moen 1225 One-Handle Replacement Cartridge Review

(More customer reviews)Our Moen kitchen faucet gradually got to working more and more stickily, until one of us broke the plastic "pivot nut" collar thingie just trying to push the handle up and down. With some trepidation I ordered this part and a new pivot nut. Both arrived quickly and I was able to install them, even though I'd never done a repair like this before. One issue others have mentioned was the perhaps fragility of the plastic device provided with this cartridge to unscrew the old one and screw in this one. Bearing that in mind I used standard needle nose pliers to break loose the retainer ring for the old cartridge, only using the plastic tool to unscrew it after that. I don't even know whether that was necessary, but in any case it worked. And now the $150 faucet works like new after me spending only an hour or so on fixing it. Oh, and ordering it through Amazon was easy and quick, and it arrived quickly as well. I didn't need the expensive cartridge pulling tool Amazon lists, nor did I have to replace the clip you must remove before unscrewing the cartridge--the old clip worked just fine. I did need standard small needlenose pliers to remove it, but everyone should have this tool in their junk drawer.
So let me encourage readers of this review. Those faucets are darned expensive, and now every time I use our kitchen faucet I get a little thrill from knowing how much $$ I saved with this surprisingly simple repair. So go for it.
