(More customer reviews)I installed one of these light-weight sinks in my daughter-in-law's kitchen a couple of years ago. She choose this one [partially] because the larger of the basins has more room than a typical 33" wide double sink. I.e., the left sink bottom is 22" across the diagonal, and nearly 10" deep, to hold large pans etc. It has held up well, showing little signs of wear; i.e., there are no evident scratches (as happens with some stainless steel sinks). She wanted a garbage disposal installed under each basin, which introduced no strength issue with the sink. In other words, the composite material used is pretty tough stuff; it is not shiny like fiberglass or porcelain sinks, having a sheen similar to egg-shells.
The installation clips, which hold it down to the counter top worked just fine and no special tools were needed. Before the sink is installed, however, it is rather fragile. While carrying the sink to the counter top hole, one corner lightly bumped against a doorway. To my horror, a large piece of the sink corner broke off. We were very lucky that the local supplier replaced it for free.
Although the photo shows a single hole for the faucet, there is a second "hole-to-be", molded in for a soap dispenser. It's located at the far rear and right. Most of that hole's perimeter has no material (on the sink bottom), so if you do it right, you can knock it out and wind up with a proper-sized hole. I laid the sink face down with that hole area supported by a 2" socket from a tool set. A light whack from a small hammer punched the hole center out. Again, be really careful when doing this, or else you could break the sink.
Once installed, there didn't seem to be a weakness issue and it still looks good after two years; hence the 4 star rating. However, one Amazon reviewer of a Blanco under-counter Anthracite sink said her sink cracked near the drain and had to be replaced, at great expense.

(More customer reviews)I was doing the dishes the other night using our 8-year-old Ladyluxe faucet when I noticed my foot was wet. I looked down to find a small torrent of water pouring out from under the cabinet door. I thought the drain had come loose or the disposal was leaking. But, it was this plastic part at the base of the faucet. The threaded, black side split and a thin stream of water was shooting all over the cabinet interior. The part was easy to unscrew and identify as Grohe part "46 315" but I found this part, "Grohe 46 138" that looked the same and was eligible for Amazon Prime. I took a chance and ordered the part and installed it without a hitch. It seems that 46 315 and 46 138 are equivalent replacements for each other. I did notice a little difference internally; the shape of the internal screen is a cone shape where the newer 48 138 is flat. This might just be an update to all their parts, though. In the end, the 48 138 fit and works.
On the subject of the actual Grohe part, I seems this part is a common failure point in this design. It didn't take long to find talk on discussion boards about this part failing after 5 years. I'm going to buy a spare and leave it in the cabinet so I don't go through this in another 5-8 years. I doubt I'd buy another Grohe faucet after this experience, though.

Wolverine PST151 Basin Wrench Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered this particular basin wrench because it was the cheapest one I could find (since I will most likely only be using it one time...). I bought it to replace the faucet for my kitchen sink, a task that would have been impossible without this basin wrench. While it worked in helping me reach past all the other stuff under my sink (garbage disposal, dishwasher hoses, etc.), there were some problems, too.
First, I'm not sure if this is the case with all basin wrenches, but this one doesn't actually grip the nut/bolt things very well. You have to futz around with it for a bit to get it to reliably "clamp" onto them to turn, which is problematic in a dark, wet, upside-down environment. However, once you get the hang of it, you can manage enough to unscrew the old faucet, with the exception that because of the wrench-head's clumsiness, I was unable to properly latch it onto the smaller hose connecting the spray nozzle to the faucet, and still had to rely on using a regular pair of pliers, which barely fit up into the works of the sink and is the reason I had to order this tool in the first place...
It got the job done for a reasonable price, but I had to fight with the tool to get it to work properly. Still cheaper than hiring a plumber. Oh, and I got the 10 inch handle, which was a fine length. I see others on here that are between 11" and 13", but I'm not sure how much more helpful they would be.

Remember, when ordering sinks with standard openings, you can always get the hardware at a local store.

(More customer reviews)We installed this as a replacement for a Pur faucet filter, which we had grown to dislike because it leaked from many places and went through filters quickly. This faucet is very attractive, and the water it filters is delicious. It filters faster than a Pur faucet filter, and the filters last 6 months and aren't expensive to replace (about $25 each). The one thing I dislike about the faucet is that after you turn it off, it trickles for about three seconds. I called a plumber to fix this, and he said all gooseneck faucets do that - the remaining water in the faucet has to drain out, and it can't be fixed. I only wish I had known this before installation; I would have put it on the "wet" side of my double sink where the disposal is rather than the dry side. Live and learn
