(More customer reviews)I purchased this faucet. It was NOT as described or photographed. I sent it back, and they sent me another identical faucet, NOT as described or photographed, and the box had been opened! This faucet is described as "solid brass". It is NOT solid brass as anyone would interperet the term "solid brass". It is a thin brass shell with internal soldered copper piped guts. A "solid brass" body would be the old fashioned type of fauced made out of a solid chunk of cast brass, with machined waterways etc. This is NOT of that type. It is of the new cheap variety. The picture indeed shows a "solid" body, look closely, it is ONE piece of "solid" brass (except for the handle of course). The faucet is actually a two piece body. A thin metal shell with a thin metal "throat" piece screwed into the front of the body. I complained to Amazon and Kohler about these misrepresentations, niether were interested in resolving the advertising or my purchase. I don't mean to say this is not a good faucet. But it is NOT as good (solid brass) as they advertise, nor is it the same faucet in the picture. It is of lesser quality.

* American Standard's "Reliant 3 [inch high] Centerset Lavatory Set" is a remarkably beautiful piece of furniture that handsomely upgrades the look of an ordinary bathroom. I don't know how to say it anymore simpler without giving anyone the impression that I'm that kind of man who fusses over trivial things like bathroom fixtures.
The "Centerset" is a one-piece faucet where a single handle controls both the cold/hot water dispenser as well as the water pressure. However it doesn't end there. This, as I'd come to find out, is only half of the set. The other half of the set is a unique drainage piece that attaches to the molding just underneath the sink. The extra piece replaces the standard bar that lift and closes the drainage.
One of the things I also like about this other than the fact that this beautiful Chrome faucet is quite heavy to hold on it's own is that the set is almost thoroughly made from a heavy weight steel. I've never replaced a faucet set before and was really unaware at how fast the parts--the cheap set that comes installed from your home-builder--cracks and deteriorates. (see picture images from video). It took a couple of days and $25 later to have a handyman and his tools pry apart that cheap p.c.b. screws and washers that fixes the faucet to the face bowl. After removing the corroded pieces, installation was about 30 minutes from start to finish.
** Working in retail for more than two decades I can confidently tell you that quality is the cheapest thing you can buy. This is certainly true with this product. Having the standard faucet set right next to the American Standard is like an old Ford Pinto parked next to Lexus. There's just no legitimate comparison. The set runs, as of this review, at $65 here on Amazon. This is a very good price for the set. It is a great investment that will save you money over time when considering the replacement cost, labor and traveling expense to your local Home Depot. Plus it upgrades the look of your bathroom. You really don't get the sense of it by just looking at the picture of the set, you first have to look at what you have now. Turn on and off the faucet. Then do the same with this unit. You'll see an immediate difference in the look and feel of your bathroom.
There is a downside, however. Once the lady comes over and see it, she'll now want you to change everything in the bathroom like money grows on trees. I don't know what'll be cheaper re-doing the bathroom or building an outhouse and telling your lady, "We're going green!"
*** If you own a home and you need to change the faucet set in a bathroom, especially if it's in the Master bedroom or a Guest bedroom, then American Standard's "Reliant Centerset Lavatory Set" is a phenomenal buy. Five gargantuan stars.

KOHLER K-12181-CP Fairfax Single Control Lavatory Faucet, Polished Chrome Review

(More customer reviews)I initally bought the two handle Faifax faucet. Installation was extremely easy. The flexible water lines are pre-installed. All you need to do is tighten a screw from the top to secure the unit in place, and then connect the water lines to your valves.
That's where the good news ended apparently. The water came out of the unit with little to no aeration, and shot out of the unit so hard that water would spray all over the sink and floor. I spit out toothpaste in the sink with the water running, and the toothpaste went flying everywhere! One other complaint I have is that the handles don't control the flow proportionally. In other words, the pressure reaches full blast with only about a 25% turn of the handles. This causes you to fuss with tweaking the handles in order to bring the water down to a pressure that won't spray water everywhere. Another problem I noticed is that when you do turn down the handles to lessen the flow, the water starts to spray erradically out of the aerator in different directions. I removed the aerator to check for debris, and there was none.
Today, I returned the 2-handled Kohler Fairfax unit to my local hardware store, and went with this 1-handled model. An associate I spoke with said he wasn't familiar with any complaints regarding this model, so I was hoping I just bought a defective one. Much to my disgust, this single handled model does the exact same thing! Also, another flaw with the single handled unit is that the lift rod sits too close to the sink backsplash. You can barely get your fingers back there to pull the bar up. This one is going back to the store as well.
The aerator at the tip is the main design problem with these Kohler units. The old lavatory faucet I had worked perfectly until it started leaking from a handle. The water always came out of it in a soft champaign flow. No issues with the faucets in my other two bathrooms either.
I gave this product 3 stars because of the ease of installation, and lifetime warranty from Kohler, but it's certainly a stretch.

(More customer reviews)Solid all brass construction, VERY easy to install. It fits 3 hole installations with a plate. Since it is for single hole installation, there is only one bolt, which pushes a washer plate against the sink. The bolt is generous is lenght, so makes it easy to tighten. Hand tightening seems adequate, but I gave it a few turns with a basin wrench just to make sure. Added benefit is that faucet comes with attached supply lines which fit 3/8" valves, but adapters are also included. Main reason for buying this was that it has a ceramic disc valve, which is supposed to be the best. Be sure to put plumber's putty as instructed to ensure a tight seal around faucet body.
