The low profile along with the nice 90 degree cornering gives it the real pop and makes the purchase superior to anything you could purchase at the large home improvement centers. One very important note: it is 16-gauge versus 18-gauge so it is a higher end stainless sink and stronger. No "popping" sounds when you fill it with warm water as you experience with lower quality sinks. We have a chocolate laminate counter top and it is truly eye catching.
