The product comes in clear step-to-step installation manual. As a home improvement hobbyist, installation was longer than one done by professionals, especially concerning the tools needed. Fortunately, I've accumulated enough tools over the last few years to be able to install it during the Presidents' Day holiday. I don't recommend the installation to those who still need to purchase the tools, unless you're absolutely sure you want to do a lot of other things at home in the future. Consider the purchase of tools as your sunk cost. If you don't need an investment in tools, just get a professional to install it.
This unit has great precision, yet there was enough tolerance in final adjustment. It also helped to have it sit on a 5' Kohler bathtub - the company would've had this combination when it designed the product. I notice that there was an addendum to the manual which didn't offer instant positioning of additional silicone bumpers for the main glass parts. This was the time when I needed precision tools used in craft building.
The unit that I purchased comes in chrome finish and is actually the least costly for this series. In the past, I had units in brushed nickel finish, but this time the unit was an replacement in a bathroom in a new home that has chrome parts all over.
