(More customer reviews)I have installed / rebuilt many faucets over the years. When the handle broke on a 10yr old American Standard my wife replaced it with this.
I gave this one star because this is the epitome of a poorly engineered 'name brand high dollar' product.
To me true quality withstands the test of time and have a substantial service life.
At first glance the quality seemed pretty nice, substantial heft from a lot of brass, heavy chrome plating, smooth action.
Then came the install...different than anything I've seen. A single (steel) 9/16-ish nut presses against a steel 'cup', 'securing' the faucet assembly to the sink. I emphasize steel because most grade schoolers know steel rusts around water and in time this will be a nightmare to whoever has to remove it! (I coated everything with Vasoline to slow oxidation). To make install harder, this nut is nested between the hot/cold water connections. Moen provides a plastic 'tool' to reach and tighten it. When I tightened the nut to the tool broke. I struggled w/a basin wrench to tighten such that the asy wouldn't turn.
I had removed a a Moen several months later for my sister-in-law and sure enough the 'steel nut' approach was a NIGHTMARE!!! I ended up chopping / hacking until I got it free (thank goodness it not a cast iron sink!)
1yr later the faucet started to drip. I could not remove the stem so I had to buy a $13 'Moen Stem Removal' tool. Instead of being able to buy a rebuild kit I had to buy the whole $14 stem! (In all fairness this is an OK price for a OE stem but it is mostly plastic)
This is 1/3 the price of the faucet!
In my ignorance I removed the spout to see how to remove stem. The O-rings in the faucet mysteriously stretched and not longer seal - I hope I can buy them!!! (these were not removed from their grooves so I couldn't have stretched them)
Needless to say - We've sworn to STAY AWAY FROM MOEN!!"

(More customer reviews)I just replaced one of these. When I first looked at the faucet, I thought there was some debris around the joint causing the faucet to stick. Actually pieces of the the thin chrome plating had chipped away. The metal underneath was heavily corroded, stained black, and expanding (explaining the sticking joint). It had already begun to leak water, and I decided it was irreparable.
I can't say it's a cheaply made faucet; it is solid and heavy. Don't expect it to last very long, however. The chrome plating is either too thin or too poorly bonded to protect the faucet.
The design itself is also silly. Why should a single handle, all-in-one faucet require 3 holes and a massive base? I would highly recommend buying one of the sets that connects each part (the faucet head, the control(s), a side spray, and sometimes a soap dispenser) through a single hole. That way it's easier to install (no plumber's putty necessary, disgusting stuff), clean, and repair. With the control handle separate from the faucet arm there is also less pressure on that joint; the arm is easier to move and less likely to bind later.
I looked at American Standard's warranty before replacing the faucet. It states: "The limited warranty excludes damage due to aggressive air or water conditions, or harsh or abrasive cleaners and/or materials." So basically if you use your faucet as a faucet, don't expect them to honor the lifetime warranty.

(More customer reviews)I just finished installing this faucet as a replacement for a kitchen faucet that had developed a leak. I was looking for a reasonably-priced, single-handle faucet with a sprayer that would fit a 3-hole sink. Guess what? This is a reasonably-priced, single-handle faucet that fits a 3-hole sink! Now that it's installed, there are a couple thinks that aren't immediately obvious which you may care about:
(1) The handle, when the water is on, is almost completely vertical. This means that it's difficult to change the temperature of the water just by nudging the handle with your wrist. If you're hands are full/dirty, changing the temperature might take a bit of finesse.
(2) The sprayer is small and made of plastic. It may prove fatiguing to use. It's fully functional, of course.
It installed fairly easily, although there were a couple of non-obvious points. The supply lines are permanently fastened to the faucet and are make of rigid copper tubing. They are shipped bent 90 degrees, and need to be straighten out in order to be fed through the sink hole. Then, they need to be bent to the side, in order to provide clearance for the sprayer line connection. Bending the tubing takes substantial strength, particularly when operating the awkward confines beneath the typical kitchen sink. I didn't run into substantial difficulty, but some care is needed to avoid kinking the tubing.
All in all, I'm quite satisfied with the results, now that it's installed!
