(More customer reviews)I've got 2 units from Amazon when it was on sale - the current price is 5 times of what I paid for it. I had a pleasure to install it this weekend, spending around 20 hours total. 4 stars, based on price I paid only. Why:
1. Be very careful when you solder it. It has 1/2 male universal threaded/solder joint connectors (which is good), but make sure you remove all the rubber rings since you have to heat the valve GOOD - it is very heavy and will take 10 sec or more with a regular torch per joint.
2. You need to use teflon tape on every joint of the fauset since rubber rings Danze uses are not reliable. As soon as I turned the main water back on, check valves started leaking like crazy with no way to tighten them up.
The plastic gears of the pressure balancing main valve look scary to me, I wish I'm wrong and it holds like that bathroom sink faucet from Danze I have for a year. But something tells me that I want to wait installing the second shower unit since I may need it for parts.
