(More customer reviews)I had not heard of Danze when reviewing bath products for my remodel. I asked a couple plumbers I know about Danze & they too had not heard of it. I did some research online & decided to try the products. I was pleasantly surprised with the high quality of the Danze fixtures. It is definitely "high-end" and compares to Groeh and other luxury fixtures. The price on Amazon for this product was an exceptional deal. The Danze comes with excellent instruction material & is superior packaging. I highly recommend for others for bath or kitchen remodels/upgrades. The roman tub fixture looks absolutely stunning in my new bath. So much so that I bought the matching shower & vanity fixtures.

(More customer reviews)I bought this as a temporary replacement shower head. The diverter is plastic and junk and cracks after varying amounts of usage. If I were you, go to a hardware store or big box store and check out the solid, metal diverters and shutoffs in the same section as the shower heads and find a half-decent shower head and put all the pieces together with teflon tape on the threads. It will cost a little more and take slightly more time but you will be much more happy in the end and will not be replacing within the year.

(More customer reviews)This is a simple, straightforward product. It does the job. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a thin layer (perhaps 1/16") of closed-cell foam between the baseplate and the adhesive backing. This would allow the plate to contour to more kinds of tile.
The tiles in my shower have just a tiny bit of contour. So far, the hook is holding well, but because there is no flexibility to the backing, I am/was concerned.
I'd certainly recommend a good cleaning of the surface. I did a scrub with alcohol before I mounted the adhesive.
And, hey, these are inexpensive, so you have little to lose . . . .

(More customer reviews)We had three of these installed 9 years ago (2001). I would not buy them again.
They all start leaking (through the shower head) every 4-5 years. You then have to refurbish or replace the two internal stop valves. The manual shows how, but it's time consuming, and too involved for most homeowners. Requires socket wrenches. About 10 parts are removed before you get to the stop valves.
The stop valves are $150 a pair, but Grohe will send them for free under the lifetime warranty, Or you may just need new O-rings (special metric sizes, not available in any US hardware store).
Pro's:
- Thermostat: Set it and forget it
- Seems like very high quality components inside and out
- Good lifetime parts warranty (Save your receipt!)
Cons:
- The stop valves need servicing every 4-5 years
- Self-servicing is tricky. Plumbers are expensive.
Once you install an in-wall shower valve it's very expensive to cut your losses and change to a different model.
